When you’re on a new path, every step you take is leading you into new territory. Each step into the unfamiliar can be jarring, even terrifying. Each footfall may cause your brain to vibrate with misgivings.
It’s not like jumping out of an airplane. Once you have leapt into the sky blue, you can’t change your mind and go back. You’ll just have to continue, and pull your chute.
But when you’re on a new path, you could do a one-eighty and return from whence you came. You can go back to the familiar trail where you know many others have gone before you.
Or…
After a few steps on the uncharted path, you may find yourself deep into the unknown, and returning to the old path may seem daunting. The switch turns, and it feels easier to continue and see where the new direction takes you.
